Orucuta in medically induced coma after TKO

Jonthan Rodriguez TKO10 Felipe Orucuta... On Friday, super flyweight Felipe Orucuta collapsed in the ring after losing by technical knockout to fellow Mexican Jonathan Javier Rodriguez (21-1). After the fight was stopped in the tenth round, Orucuta collapsed in the ring. It appeared that the ringside physician saved his life by re-starting his heart with chest compressions. Orucuta was then taken to the hospital in Uruapan, where underwent surgery to remove a blood clot from his brain. The fight took place at the Ixtapa Convention Center, Zihuatanejo. The WBC issued the following statement: "Surgery was performed to remove a blood clot from the brain of Orucuta, which was successful and he will remain in a [medically] induced coma.There will be no additional information in the next 48 hours during the evaluation process of his [recovery]."  Coming in to this fight, The three most significant battles for Orucuta (36-6) were two decision losses to Omar Narvaez and one to Juan Francisco Estrada.
