It's sad to say, but Lubin (27-3, 19 KOs), a noble warrior, was completely shot coming into the fight. He had no movement and no punch resistance, and fighting off the ropes against a killer like Ortiz is not going to work out well for anyone. The fight was held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, and Ortiz  (24-0, 22 KOs)  walked out of the ring still the WBC interim champion at junior middleweight. Punchstat numbers showed Ortiz outlanding Lubin 25 punches to 3. The most exciting part of the night was the post-fight confrontation between Ortiz and former welterweight champion Jaron "Boots" Ennis. Both men looked each other in the eye and said they wanted to fight each other next.
