After Serhii Bohachuk lost a debatable decision to Vergil Ortiz over the weekend, Bohachuk's promoter, Tom Loeffler, got into a Twitter beef with Ortiz's dad, Vergil Ortiz Sr. Here are the dueling tweets:
Loeffler: Fights aren’t judged by CompuBox. Even if they were, Bohachuk dropped him in rounds one and eight and landed more punches in four other rounds. Vergil fought a great fight, [but] Bohachuk should still be [WBC junior middleweight interim] champion. Look at the comments on your post, even your own fans saying Bohachuk won. It’s a hollow victory when the fans think Bohachuk should still be the champion. If he doesn’t get the rematch, everyone will know you think he won too.
Ortiz: LOL, look at you trying to use the "if he doesn't get the rematch" thing. You exchanged the [right to demand a] rematch for more money or did you forget? All your ridiculous demands were granted in replacement of the rematch [clause]. You wanted more money in the exchange. Keep crying.
Loeffler: Bohachuk scored knockdowns in rounds one and eight and outlanded Vergil in rounds four, six, seven and ten. That’s six rounds plus the two points for the knockdowns. Any way you look at it, Bohachuk should still be the WBC [junior middleweight] interim champion.
Ortiz: In negotiations, Tom lameass demanded a million things. In exchange [we said] it was ok if you want all that (money and stuff), then fine, no rematch [clause]. Guess what he picked?? But he won’t tell you that either. I’m sleeping fine, Tom. Go asleep, your too old to be crying.
