Featherweight contender Orlando Salido will have his suspension lifted by the Nevada Atheltic Commission this week, August 5th to be exact. Back in November, Salido was announced as the new IBF featherweight champion, but his title-winning victory over Robert Guerrero was erased from the record books after his urinalysis revealed the presence of nandrolone, an illegal performance enhancing drug. Salido was also fined $5,833. For those who think boxing is tolerant of steroids, the nine-month suspension received by Salido exceeds the 50-game (roughly two months) suspension handed out by major league baseball to steroid users.
