One on One with Bobby Pacquiao

Lightweight contender Bobby Pacquiao is eager to get back into the ring on June 9.  In his last effort the brother of the boxing icon Manny Pacquiao was disqualified for failing to make weight.  Now on June 9th, he will get an opportunity to get back into the ring against the very dangerous Humberto Soto.  Boxingtalk caught up with Bobby Pacquiao Saturday morning, and got his thoughts on his big upcoming fight.

BC - Thank you for joining Boxingtalk.

BP - Thank you for having me.

BC - Bobby you had trouble making weight against Hector Velazquez and as a result you got disqualified, I am guessing that you won't have any problems this time.

BP - No, I have and will do everything that I need to do to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

BC - Talk about camp so far.

BP - Yes camp is good, I have been at the Wild Card Gym for two weeks, everything is going good so far. I am training hard for this fight.  This is a very important fight for me, and I will do my best to win this fight.

BC - Bobby do you consider this fight against Soto to be the biggest fight of your career?

BP - Yes, this is very big.   This is a very big fight for my career, and I will work hard to win this fight.

BC - What in your own words will a win against Soto do for your career?

BP - It will mean a lof for my career to win against Soto, It's the biggest fight of my career so far, so it's important for me to win this fight.

BC - Your brother Manny will be running for congress in the Philippines, do you think he will win?

BP - Yes I think he will win.  Before he left to come to Los Angeles Manny was ahead in the polls.  I think he will win.

BC - What will you do to help Manny win, will you be involved?

BP - Well I want to tell everybody that I am dedicating my fight against Humberto Soto to my brother Manny.  I want to win this fight for him.

BC - With all of your brother success, does that inspire you to be better?

BP - Yes I am inspired by Manny, and I want to win my fight against Soto so that I can be like Manny, and soon become world champion.

BC - Bobby thank you for joining us, I appreciate your time.

BP - Thank you for having me.
