At the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Carlos Hernandez and Bobby Pacquiao (brother of Filipino superstar Manny Pacquiao) opened up the Showtime pay-per-view telecast with a ten-round slugfest.  Pacquiao dropped Hernandez at the end of the second round with a left hook.  The underdog Pacquiao won by split decision, the biggest win of his career, by scores of 93-97, 95-94, 95-93.
