Press Release: With Floyd Mayweather, Jr. relinquishing the WBC 154-pound title he won from Oscar De La Hoya in May,  former world welterweight champions Vernon Forrest (38-2, 28 KOs), from Atlanta, and Carlos Badlomir (43-10-6, 13 KOs), from Argentina will now be fighting for the newly-vacated title, Saturday, July 28.  Promoted by Gary Shaw Productions, in association with Brian Halquist Productions and Sycuan Ringside Promotions, the Forrest-Baldomir title tilt will be broadcast live from the Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma, Washington, on HBO Boxing After Dark, beginning at 10:15 P.M. ET/PT (delayed on the west coast). The officials assigned to this world championship fight are: referee Jay Nady and judges Samuel Conde (Puerto Rico), Anek Hongtongkam (Thailand) and Tom McDonough  (USA).
