Ocampo to face Juarez next week in Tijuana

Zanfer Promotions will start its 2021 season on Saturday January 16th when Carlos Ocampo faces Abraham Juárez at the Grand Hotel in Tijuana, with Azteca 7 televising. Ocampo (28-1, 18 KOs) will face Mexico City's Juárez (listed at 20-6, 8 KOs) over ten rounds at junior middleweight. Since losing a welterweight championship challennge to Errol Spece in June 2018, Ocampo, from Baja California, moved up  and has posted five victories, four of them by stoppage... The co-feature, scheduled for eight rounds at welterweight, matches Sinaloa's Jorge “Chino” García (18-2, 16 KOs) against Tijuana's José “Berna” Lozano (listed 8-0, 8 KOs). [Though Boxrec lists Lozano as 6-0] Zanfer reports that Lozano has eight wins, all by first round knockout... A third announced fight, booked for six rounds in the super featherweight division, sees Tijuana's Humberto Galindo (12-0-1, 9 KOs) against Eliot Chávez (8-3-1, 4 KOs) from Coahuila. Galindo, 21 years old, did not fight in 2020, and for the first time he will face a rival with more than five victories. Chávez has an advantage in terms of activity, since he won two fights in 2020, bothj by knockout. In the most recent win, in October, Chavez handed José Antonio Samperio his first pro defeat in ten fights.
