O'Neil Bell: Coming Soon To A Boxing Ring Near You

GL: It's been a very long time since we've had you on Boxingtalk. I was surprised to receive your interview request. I imagine you have some things you'd like to get off your chest, so tell us all about it. "I'm just upset that I took a back seat while these fake fighters, these fake cruiserweights can run with it. While I've been diminished in the background, they still not making noise or doing anything for the sport. I want to come back and defend all of that to get it back on track."

GL: When can we expect you back in the ring? What do you attribute your current absence to?

O'Neil Bell: "I'm a real fighter Greg, and I'm much more mature now. I want to come back and I'm not looking to take no short cuts. I know what I am, I'm a bonafide fighter. I'll face anybody that brings a challenge and give them a real fight. Cruiserweight is missing me and I'm ready to help put the division in the proper perspective and limelight again. Boxing needs to be something people talk about again."

"It would take me six weeks to be in fighting shape. I've been in the gym for six weeks already and after I conquer the cruiserweight division again, I'm going to heavyweight because there's not going to be anything left me to do once I capture my title."

GL: Can you describe the end of the Adamek fight for us? What was going through your head?

OB: "If you want to technical Greg, you've got to listen to this one. All the world is but a stage. This is Shakespeare. We got to have an entrance and an exit from the stage. When I reconigzed that the whole thing was fake, the vertigo took me and I had to walk because I can't be a part of no foolishness that will rub off me. I'm the realest thing out there, I'm a throwback if you want to get technical, I came up watching, Joe Louis, Jack Dempsey and Jack Johnson. I'm hearing fake applause at a boxing match and the vertigo took me, it was too much stress on me. I thrive off the crowd and the applause was fake."

GL: Would you have done anything differently?

OB: "Yeah. I would have continued and done me. I wouldn't allow whatever they try to effect me."

GL: Are you a promotional and managerial free agent?

OB: "Across the board and I want you to let them know that Supernova is back. You fighters need to step up the game because it's really wack right now. TV isn't getting money they used to because these fighters aren't performing up to expectations. I'm at the gym twice a day and I'm putting that weight on, I'm coming back, that's what it is."
