Nino retains title with draw against Viloria!

Omar Nino D12 Brian Viloria: Despite suffering two knockdowns, Omar Nino retained his WBC 108-pound title with a hard fought, twelve-round majority draw over former champ Brian Viloria. The fist four rounds saw several exchanges, most of which Viloria clearly got the better of. Viloria was awarded a knockdown when Nino's glove touched the canvas two mintues into the fifth round.  Round six was as uneventful as the first fight between these two, but things quickly heated up in the seventh when Nino rattled Viloria with several powerful right hands. Viloria landed a couple of hard hooks before the round ended, but the seventh appeared to be the first round Nino clearly won. Round eight was a nip and tuck affair but Nino appeared to have the edge. Nino seemed to be building some good momentum in round nine, until a three punch combo from Viloria decked him for a second time with thirty seconds left in the frame. Although the action slowed during the championship, Nino, knowing he was behind in the fight, outworked Viloria and appeared to do enough to sweep the last three rounds, which likely cost Viloria the fight. Official scores were 115-112 Nino and 113-113 (twice).  G. Leon  scored the fight 114-112 for Viloria.
