Partial Proceeds Going to Charity

Former WBO middleweight and WBC supermiddleweight champion Nigel Benn (42-5 with 35 KOs), has decided to auction off his belts and donate part of the proceeds to charity.  Now a devout religious minister at the church of Majorca, Benn believes this will complete his transformation to a full time preacher.  “Me winning titles is not going to get me into heaven, knowing Jesus will.  I actually don't have any boxing stuff in my house anymore” explained Benn.   At the very least, the boxing world can rejoice that this fighter is using his championship belts to help the less fortunate, rather than the usual sale of belts to stave off the poverty of the actual fighter.  Source: ITN UK
