Next up: Jorge Arce on BAD

Press Release: The late night HBO series Boxing After Dark premieres for 2007 with a doubleheader featuring Jorge Arce vs. Julio Ler and Kelly Pavlik vs. Jose Luis Zertuche on January 27th at 10:15 p.m. (ET/PT), from The Honda Center in Anaheim, California. In the main event, 115-pounder Jorge Arce (45-3-1, 35 KOs) from Los Mochis, Mexico takes on Julio Ler (23-1, 14 KOs) from Argentina in a twelve rounder.  Arce, considered one of the more exciting fighters in the sport is returning to the ring after a recent KO victory over Hawk Makepula.  Ler, whose only loss came at the hands of ex-world titlist Alexander Munoz, is making his first ring appearance in the United States.  The opening fight pits undefeated Kelly Pavlik (29-0, 26 KOs) from Youngstown, OH against Jose Luis Zertuche (19-3-2, 14 KOs) out of Leon, Mexico in a ten-round middleweight contest.  Pavlik is a raising star in the middleweight division with a near perfect KO to victory ratio.  Zertuche known for his brawling style is looking to upset Pavlik’s march towards a middleweight title.Â
