Newark show booked for Oct. 12th

The Brick City Fight Night Series returns to Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, October 12th. The show will be presented by Rising Star Promotions, with twelve bouts scheduled, from the flyweight division up to the heavyweights. Tickets can be purchased at www.prucenter.com or www.Ticketmaster.com. Two bantamweights will fight for the opportunity to become a contender in the 118-pound division. Hometown favorite Emmanuel “Salserito” Rodriguez (15-2, 8 KOs) will face Brooklyn’s Khalid Twaiti (13-0, 5 KOs) in a ten-round bout.

In a crossroads junior welterweight fight, Terell Bostic (12-2, 2 KOs) of Wyandanch, N.Y. will face Jersey City’s Michael Lee (10-3, 7 KOs) in an eight-round bout. Bostic is coming off a career best win in his last bout, defeating Carlos Rosario in June by sixth-round stoppaget. Lee is moving down a weight class as he seeks to rebuild the momentum in his career.

“This is what boxing is all about: fighters stepping up to take on challenges. It’s a true blessing to bring an event to Prudential Center. I’m more than happy for this opportunity. This event will be one to remember,” said promoter Thomas “Cornflake” LaManna, who is also an active middleweight.

“Prudential Center is very excited to partner with Rising Star Promotions to welcome some of the best boxing talent in New Jersey and the tri-state area for the biggest edition of Brick City Fight Night Series, to date” said Dylan Wanagiel, VP of Sports Properties & Special Events for Prudential Center. “We look forward to Saturday, October 12 which will be a night full of electrifying boxing action while continuing to celebrate the ‘Sweet Science’ in Brick City.”

ADDITIONAL BOUTS

Two New Jersey heavyweights will make their professional debuts against one another as Erasmo Rosado Jr. of Paterson faces Woodbury’s Douglas Walsh.

Newark's own Michael “Slick” Anderson (24-3-1, 17 KOs) is looking for an opponent. He has wins over Dashon Johnson (11-2-3), DeMarcus Rogers (14-3-1) and a fifth-round knockout of Eudy Bernardo (25-6) in his last bout. Anderson, a welterweight on a seven-fight win streak, is no stranger to the Prudential Center crowd, having fought four of his last five bouts at the venue.

Also seeing action in an eight-round bout will be Newark’s own Anthony Johns (8-1, 6 KOs) who faces an opponent to be named. Johns, a 2019 National Golden Gloves champion, brings an all action style that makes him a popular attraction throughout the state.

One of the region’s most popular heavyweights, Kristian Prenga (15-1, 15 KOs) will make his second straight appearance at Prudential Center. Prenga, an Albania native who now resides in Edgewater, N.J., has won all of his 15 victories by knockout, including nine within the first two rounds.

Other boxers slated for action include Ghandi Romain (4-1, 4 KOs) of Newark, Kahshad Elliot (2-0, 2 KOs) of Plainfield, N.J., Jean Pierre Valencia (1-0, 1 KO) of Irvington, N.J., Quaseem Carter (5-1, 4 KOs) of Newark, Justin Palmieri (2-0, 1 KO) of Maple Shade, N.J., and Jose “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (19-0-2, 7 KOs) of Harlem, N.Y.
