Campbell returns to ESPN July 6

GL:  It's been a minute since we've had you on the record.  What's the latest and greatest with Nathaniel Campbell? "Don King is on my team now.  Everything is going good, we're trying to make the right fight." 

GL:  The announcement of you signing with Don King kind of went under the radar. Give us some thoughts on being with the old legend.

NC:  I'm happy, I'm very happy. 

GL:  Do you have any idea when the mandatory? with Julio Diaz is going to be enforced?

NC:  I don't know, I feel confident it's going to happen really soon though.

GL:  Oh, yeah.  Does Mr. King have anything to do with that confidence?

NC:  Yes, he does.  Don King is the greatest promoter out there, and he's going to make the fights that I want.

GL:  Are you surprised that they made you pretty much make the term before they enforced the mandatory?

NC:  I wasn't surprised at all.  When he fought for the title, and won the title, I was in the room.  He made it his business not to acknowledge my presence.  He doesn't want to fight me. 

GL:  Are you keeping yourself in training?  When are you hoping to get back in the ring?  July, August, give us a ...

NC:  July 6th I'll be ESPN2. 

GL:  July 6th?

NC:  Yeah, I'll be on ESPN2 against... we don't know right now. 

GL:  What else is shaking with Nathanial Campbell?

NC:  I'm watching an ESPN marathon right now, Anthony Peterson against McCall.  At first I was kind of upset, then I thought about it.  He would go ?, because he doen't know any better. 

GL:  It should feel good to be wanted.

NC:  I like it because I would beat him up, just like I beat everyone else up.  When he's ready.  I think I'll let him grow up a little bit first, because I don't want to beat up on children.

GL:  Child abuse is..

NC:  Not something I want to be part of.

GL:  What if they license it?

NC:  If they license it, they're signing his death warrant. 

GL:  If they license it, they're signing his death warrant.  In other words, he should be careful of what he wishes for?

NC:  Be careful of what he wishes for, because I have kids of my own, and I still spank them.  I don't have a problem spanking my kids, or somebody else's either.

GL:  Congrats on signing with King, hopefully we'll have a day for the defense soon, and know who you're fighting on July 6th.  When you do give us a call for the update.  In the meantime, give us some closing thoughts for the fans.
