N'dou Speaks On Fight Cancellation

On Tuesday night, Lovemore N’dou informed BoxingTalk that his fight with Junior Witter on the undercard of Hopkins-Eastman if off.  According to the Black Panther, before he set off for the United States from his homeland of Australia, he was under the impression that his fight with Junior Witter on February 19th would be a WBC or IBF title eliminator.  However, when he arrived in Los Angeles, N’dou was informed by Hennessey Promotions that was no longer the case.  He was told that the fight with Witter would instead be for the British Commonwealth Title, which means absolutely nothing to the Black Panther.  According to N’dou, WBC’s Jose Sulaiman also made it known that if N’dou could beat Witter this Saturday, he could then take on Gianluca Branco, and the winner of that fight could then vie for a title bout.  When asked if the fight could be a IBF title eliminator instead, N’dou said that his promoter Dan Goossen attempted to work out a deal with Hennessey Promotions since they had the final say in the matter, but it was to no avail.  With that, and the modest money being offered to fight Witter, N’dou felt as the WBC’s #4 junior welterweight, that it would be best for him to head back to Australia and wait for something better to come along, like a fight with Arturo Gatti or Floyd Mayweather Jr. if he can stay out of jail.  BoxingTalk will continue to keep you up to date on this matter as N’dou himself keeps the information flowing
