Mzonke Fana W12 Malcolm Klassen... A world title changed hands in South Africa as Mzonke Fana won a split decision over one of the most obscure of the sports 60-70 world title claimants. Malcolm Klassen ceded the IBF 130-pound title to Mzonke Fana when one judge scored the bout 115-114 for Klassen but was overruled by his colleagues' cards which read 116-113 and 116-112. Although this was undoubtedly a very meaningful win for Fana, who was trashed in two rounds by Marco Antonio Barrera last year, it is Barrera's conqueror, Juan Manuel Marquez, who is considered the genuine world champion at 130 pounds. A strong final round cemented the victory for Fana, 26-3. Klassen, 19-4, lost his first title defense. The IBF 130-pound title has been passed around among four mediocre fighters (Fana, Klassen, Gairy St. Claire, Cassius Baloyi) in four bouts since Barrera relinquished it. source: supersport zone
