Mundine to appear in farce title bout

In a joke of a so-called world title fight, Anthony Mundine will risk his paper WBA regular title against a stiff from Argentina named Jose Alberto Clavero. The farce will take place in Australia on December 10, 2007. How bad is this fight? Anybody who knows anything about boxing can tell you that the only legitimate champion at 168 pounds is the winner of tomorrow's Joe Calzaghe-Mikkel Kessler fight, including the WBA, which recognizes Kessler as a "super champion" and Mundine as a regular champion. Meanwhile, Clavero, 27-5, has not beaten anyone with a winning record since 2003, and is 0-2-1 in his last three, including a disqualification for not trying. He has never beaten anyone good, ever (unless you count Dario Victor Galindez, which we dont). Mundine is coming back from a self-inflicted eye infection caused by licking his own contact lens. source: fox sports australia
