Shane Mosley has defeated Fernando Vargas again, but this time there is little room for debate as Mosley won every round and stopped the former junior middleweight champion in the sixth. Mosley floored Vargas once in the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. Vargas barely beat the count, then Mosley continued to hurt Vargas until referee Kenny Bayless intervened. Prior to the fight Mosley said he would take the rest of the year off and then drop back down to the 147-pound division after two straight junior middleweight bouts against Vargas. Although he's not old and his popularity is such that there will continue to be an audience for him, Vargas has made millions, won world titles and may want to consider retirement.
