After spending 2006 on a seniors tour of sorts, Shane Mosley dropped back down to welterweight and decisively beat a younger fighter who some considered an uncrowned world titlist. In Las Vegas, Mosley outboxed a visibly discouraged Luis Collazo and knocked Collazo down in the eleventh round en route to an easy victory by scores of 118-109 (twice) and 119-108. Mosley, 44-4, added a new chapter to his legacy, thoroughly outclassing Colazzo. Now 27-3, Collazo remained unable to find the recipe for victory. Against Ricky Hatton last year, some felt Collazo deserved the decision but he gave away some rounds by walking right into Hatton.
