Press Release: Seminole Warriors Boxing and Golden Grain Promotions are pleased to announce that they have secured a Russian palace as the venue for the WBO heavyweight title bout on June 2, 2007 between champion Shannon Briggs and Sultan Ibragimov. The 12,000 seat Luzhniki Sports Palace in Moscow will host the unbeaten Ibragimov’s homecoming. “The new king will be crowned in a palace, and we couldn’t be happier,” predicted Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing. “This is a wonderful arena with a lot of history, and we expect that the fight fans of Russia will sell it out and watch their favorite son.” The Luzhniki Sports Palace, part of the Luzhniki Sports Complex, is the home arena for hockey’s Dynamo Moscow and has been used in the past for World and European Championship competitions. It also the arena where the famed 1972 Summit Series between, the Soviet Union and Canadian hockey teams, took place.
