Mora disappointment for Kirk Johnson

Johnson to file protest!

Javier Mora TKO7 Kirk Johnson... In a huge upset, lightly regarded Javier Mora defeated heavyweight contender Kirk Johnson by technical knockout  at the Pechanga Resort and Casino in California on Friday night. Although the result is huge setback to Johnson's comeback attempt, he does have an excuse for the loss.  Johnson was ahead on two official cards and even on the third when he dislocated his knee in the seventh round. Mora threw a jab at Johnson, who went down and was unable to get up. The referee called it a slip, but Mora's foot pinned Johnson's to the floor and caused him to dislocate his left knee. The former Canadian Olympian  drops to 36-3-1. Mora, 20-2-1, joins Vitali Klitschko and John Ruiz on the list of Johnson's conquerors. No doubt quite a few established heavyweights will be looking to face Mora soon. source: the press-enterprise

Sam Soliman TKO6 Raul Munoz... On the same show, middleweight contender Sam Soliman steped in on a week's notice for injured Vernon Forrest and defeated Raul Munoz by by technical knockout in the sixth round. It was the first bout for Soliman, 32-8, since losing to Winky Wright in December. Munoz drops to 17-8. source: the press-enterprise
