Mollo smashes McBride in two

Mike Mollo TKO2 Kevin McBride... On the Don King Productions undercard in Rosmeont, Illinois, heavyweight Kevin McBride's career took a devastating hit when the man who ended Mike Tyson's career was blown out just 44 seconds into the second round by little-known Mike Mollo. “I saw the opening and took it," said Mollo afterward. "I knew the right hands to the body were hurting McBride. I saw the expression on his face in the clinch and I moved up to the head. I was not surprised McBride went so quickly.  We trained for 12 rounds but I caught him early.” Mollo is now 16-1, and enjoyed a career-best win in his home state.  His lone loss is to DaVarryl Williamson. McBride's career is now in tatters after foolishly turning down a six-figure payday for a title shot against then-WBA belt holder John Ruiz. He is now 34-4-1 but the Tyson win seems like a distant memory. source: DKP press release
