Mississippi rebels vs. WBC

Mississippi boxing commissioner Jon Lewis is reportedly standing strong in the face of the WBC's demand to appoint two of the four  officials for the Tim Bradley-Edner Cherry WBC 140-pound title fight. The WBC has threatened that if at least two of its officials do not get appointed by the State of Mississippi, it will send three WBC judges score the fight from the stands (thankfully, the WBC did not threaten to have someone referee the fight from the stands). According to well-placed sources, Lewis is not backing down, and has told people that anyone who acts as a boxing judge without a state license is committing a crime. Lewis, who takes offense at the WBC's suggestion that Mississippi officials would not be neutral, says he will ask law enforcement authorities to pursue criminal charges if the WBC follows through with its threat. For the record, neither fighter is from Mississippi. Bradley is from California and Cherry, a Bahamian, lives in Florida.
