Miranda defeats Gibbs in one round

Litzau gets KTFO by Hernandez

Edison Miranda KO1 Willie Gibbs... Coming off a controversial lossn Germany in which he broke Arthur Abraham's jaw but dropped a decision, Edison Miranda knocked out Willie Gibbs in one round in Miami, proving his career would not be derailed by his only pro loss. The middleweight contender, who grew up homeless in Colombia, caught Gibbs with a punch to the top of the head that didn't appear all too solid, but nonethless left Gibbs clearly dazed. Gibbs went down near the end of the first round, but was so dazed he couldn't follow the referee's count, jumping up after the ten count insisting he was able to continue. After 21 wins over easy competition in Colombia, Miranda has improved to 28-1, proved he is a world-clss middleweight and remained in position for a rematch against Abraham for the IBF middleweight title. Jose Hernandez KO8 Jason Litzau... In Miami, Florida, Jose Hernandez knocked Jason Litzau down in the first round, proceded to lose the next six rounds, but then landed an overhand right that put Litzau down for a ten count. The HBO Boxing After Dar opener was meant to be a coming out party for Litzau as a featherweight contender, but Hernandez flipped the script when Litzau refused to respect Hernandez's power.
