Miguel A. Torrecillas injured by truck

Press Release: Miguel Angel Torrecillas who was schedule to fight Carlos Maussa on August 25, 2006 at Miccosukee in Florida has been hospitalized after being hit by a truck which caused him several injuries it was reported by his promoter, Fresquez Promotions. Replacing Torrecillas in the main event against Maussa will now be Manuel “Marro” Garnica (22-5-12 KOs) of Guadalajara, Mexico. His bout against Maussa, a former  WBA junior welterweight title holder with a record of 20-3-18 KOs, is scheduled for twelve rounds with two regional 140-pound titles at stake. “It’s very sad what happened to Torrecillas, I send my best to him and his family and a speedy recovery, [but] I must continue with my career and I’m very well prepared and ready for Garnica” said Maussa.
