Michael Katsidis on Juan Diaz fight: "I'd break him!"

GL: Can you give us some thoughts on Juan Diaz's victory? "I think The Baby Bull looked really good. I'm looking forward to see what comes of that and hopefully we'll have something locked in for us to fight very shortly. It comes down to how highly he values the WBO and naturally that should be his number one priority. I thought he fought a good fight and put on great pressure and Julio just wasn't up to it."

GL: Do you think Julio quit?

Michael Katsidis: "By that stage of the fight it was already clear that he taken too much and there wasn't nothing he was going to do. It was one of those fights where you could have walked out after the third round because you already knew what was going to happen. I think he tried his hardest, I didn't think he looked like the same Julio I've seen in the past. But when a guy forces his will on another guy like that you can change the way that they fight. I think The Baby Bull did a great job of sapping the energy from Julio. I think he's a great fighter and a great champion and I can't wait to get into the ring with him."

GL: What do you think the chances of you getting him in the ring are?

MK: "Geez, I hope he honors his obligations. I know he mentioned Manny Pacquiao last night, which doesn't make it seem like he's too interested in me. If he no longer wants to be champion, I'll become the WBO champion, but I'll fight for it because that's what I'm here to do. I'm a fighter so who I fight doesn't bother me, I'll fight anybody."

GL: Do you feel you would be able to implement your will on Diaz the same way you were able to against Amonsot?

MK: "More than anyone would know. I'll make it simple, I'd break him and the fight wouldn't go the distance. I'll break him. He would be in for the shock of his life if he fought me."

GL: When will your people be in touch with the WBO to find out if he's going to fight you next?

MK: "I leave that kind of thing to my management. That will all be looked after. I have 100% confidence in Golden Boy Promotions and my matchmaker Sampson Lewkowicz and my manager Brandon Smith."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

MK: "Boxingtalk rocks mate other than that, there's not much to say in closing since we spoke last."
