PRESS RELEASE: Monty Meza-Clay (24W-1L, 15KO) will battle former title Challenger Luis Bolano (42W–7L, 32KO) in the 10 round main event at Heinz Field’s South Plaza on Saturday July 21st. The Champion Meza-Clay, known for his entertaining and action packed style, is fresh off of unanimous decision victory over Former World Champion Carlos Contreras this past May. The veteran Colombian knockout puncher Bolano challenged for the WBO title in 2004 and IBF title in 2005 and is coming off of a decision loss to current WBC title elimination contender Elio Rojas.
Also appearing on the card will be former Amateur World Champion and professional prospect sensation “The Magic” Juan McPherson (6W–0L, 3KO) and the highly anticipated pro debut of #2 ranked U.S. Amateur Welterweight Jesse Lubash. Multiple other entertaining bouts will fill out the card including some of the tri-state area’s best talent in Junior Middleweight Alphonso “Soldier” Williams (8W-2L, 6KO), Scott McCracken (16W-7L, 12KO), and the pro debut’s of Lightweights Mike Strauss on Rod Salka.
