Mexico's Nery vows to finish off Rodriguez in less than four rounds

Former IBF bantamweight champion Emmanuel Rodriguez (19-1) of Puerto Rico will return to the ring on November 23rd to face undefeated former WBC bantamweight champion Luis “Pantera” Nery on November 23rd in Las Vegas. The 118-pound match-up will be on the same pay-per-view show featuring the Deontay Wilder vs. Luis Ortiz rematch for the WBC heavyweight championship. Nery (30-0) [has experienced weight and banned substance issues in the past], but said said that nothing will stop him from regaining the WBC title in 2020. After that, he is hoping for a big fight vs. Rodriguez's lone conqueror, Japan's Naoya Inoue. As for Rodriguez, Nery promised he would defeat Rodriguez quickly. “Manny is a good fighter, but with a little slow style.  I’m going to impose myself with my style, with a lot of pressure, overcoming him without a problem, in three or four rounds,” Nery told ESPN. If Nery wins, he would likely next fight the current WBC titlist, Nordine Oubaali of France, who recently defeated Naoya's brother Takuma Inoue.
