Press Release: An opponent has been signed for undefeated Chicago middleweight Michael Walker on 8 Count Productions’ October 20, 2006 show. Walker will square off against Alberto Mercedes at Cicero Stadium in Illinois. Mercedes brings a pro record of 13-12-1. Mercedes returns to Cicero Stadium where his last appearance this past June resulted in a six round TKO over Kenny Kost. The heavy handed Mercedes dominated the fight from the outset on his way to the stoppage. Since then, Merceds has lost a split decision to Ottu Holifield. Walker, (13-0-1 with 8 KOs) is riding a six-bout winning streak since his draw with Jimmy Gonzalez on July 15, 2005. Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S.
