According to La Prensa in Panama, Tito "El Misil" Mendoza is moving up to cruiserweight and he will fight Luis Andres Pineda at the Figali Convention Center on July 29 in Panama City. Pineda is rated #28 at cruiserweight by Boxingtalk but it is a surprise to see Mendoza in this division since he started his career as a 140-pounder! With a career record of 31-6, he has won Panamanian or regional titles at 140, 147, 154, 160 and 168 but now he is skipping 175 to go to 200 pounds. Maybe he is trying to follow his countryman, Guillermo Jones, who started as a welterweight but now fights very well as a cruiserweight.
