Christian Mbilli W10 Carlos Góngora... French super middleweight hopeful Christian Mbilli took a big step forward, as he fought respected Carlos Góngora for ten rounds and won by unanimous decision at the Casino de Montreal in the province of Quebec, Canada, on Thursday. The judges’ scorecards showed Mbili's dominance with scores of 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93, but the fight had a lot of two-way action and put a big physical demand for both fighters. It was not an easy fight for the winner. Mbilli met a strong Ecuadorian who was aggressive throughout the fight, and he was forced to deal with a high volume of punches.  Mbilli’s ability to throw non-stop punches of his own was essential to taking the victory. Gongora, the former IBO champion, now has a record of 21-2. Mbili is now 27-0 including the World Series of Boxing.
