Forrest-Baldomir to fight for vacant strap?

Boxingtalk has been informed that undefeated pound-for-pound Picasso Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has vacated his WBC 154-pound championship. Mayweather is still the WBC welterweight champion and a potential November 10, 2007 fight against Ricky Hatton is still in the works. Boxingtalk has also been informed not to be surprised if the July 28, 2007 Vernon Forrest-Carlos Baldomir is used to determine Mayweather's successor as WBC junior middleweight titlist. (1:04 PM EST)
