Aged forty seven, Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. made his debut in Mexico City, in an exhibition on Saturday night at the iconic Arena Ciudad de México. The fight was a rematch of a June 2023 exhibition between Mayweather and MMA fighter John Gotti III. Mayweather dominated Gotti during the eight two-minute rounds. Showing off his accomplished style, Mayweather took it upon himself to neutralize the more than 22-pound weight difference that Gotti had over him. “For me it was an honor to be able to come here to perform in Mexico,” Floyd said at the end of the fight.... On the same card, super bantamweight Alan David Picasso (29-0-1, 16 KOs) won by unanimous decision in twelve rounds over Azat “Crazy A” Hovhanisyan (21-5, 17 KOs)... Also, former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz (33-7-3, 25 KOs) returned from a two-year hiatus to fight eight two-minute rounds against Rodrigo Damian Coria (13-6, 2 KOs) in an exhibition bout... Eighteen year-old lightweight prospect Curmel Traymayne Moton (5-0, 4 KOs) needed just 55 seconds to knock out Victor Vasquez (5-3-1) in the first round.
