A few lucky Nicaraguan partyers may have witnessed a booze-fueled street fight between two of the greatest boxers in the history of the Central American nation. According to a report from Latin American news agency Notimex, Alexis Arguello and Ricardo Mayorga squared off in the wee hours of the morning last week in Nicaragua. Harkening back to 100 years ago when no official verdicts were rendered, the newspaper decision went to Mayorga for reportedly landing shots to Arguello's face. Arguello won world titles at 126, 130 and 135 pounds, but he is approaching his 53rd birthday, and besides two ill-advised bouts in the mid-90s, his career ended in 1986.
