Maussa stunned by Garnica

Manuel Garnica W12 Carlos Maussa... In Miami, Mexican Manuel Garnica put himself back on the boxing map with an upset win over former WBA junior welterweight titlist Carlos Maussa. Fighting for just the second time since 1999, Garnica won a unanimous twelve round decision over Maussa despite giving away several inches in height. Maussa sawaction for the first time since giving Ricky Hatton hell in a losing effort last November. This time, he fought like Frankenstein, lumbering forward stiffly with hands down and throwing powerful but wide and slow punches. Maussa, who won his title from Vivian Harris abot 13 months ago before losing it to Hatton, drops to 20-4. Garnica, whose last win was an upset over then-faded Gabriel Ruelas in 1999, improves to 20-6 and goes home with two regional titles. source: Telemundo
