Matthew Aguilar is a sportswriter for the El Paso (Texas) Times, and has been covering boxing for the newspaper for 13 years. A native of New Mexico, Aguilar's primary responsibility is beat writer for the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) football team, and serves as lead writer for the historic Sun Bowl football game. He has penned a weekly boxing column for the Times for the past 6 years, and his work has appeared in USA Today, KO and Ring Magazine, and Dave Campbell's Texas Football.
