Massachusetts Expressway Jam set for June 3 Press Release: 2000 Ecuadorian Olympian Luis Hernandez (12-2, 6 KOs) will headline "Expressway Jam," presented by NER Promotions, Friday night, June 3 at Freeport Hall (IBEW) in Dorchester (MA). Hernandez is matched against Bahamian welterweight Jerome Ellis (3-2-1, 3 KOs) in the eight-round main event. "Hernandez won on our first show in Lowell, knocking his opponent out with one big punch, and we want to showcase his talents," NER Promotions president Rick Brutti said. "We also have some good local prospects on this card. 'Expressway Jam' is the second in a series of fights we're promoting this year." In the six-round co-feature, super middleweight Rodney Toney (26-4-4, 16 KOs), faces veteran Shannon Miller. Toney, cousin of multiple world champion James Toney, has been idle 2 1/2 years, but does hold a win against Charles Brewer, and fought William Joppy to a draw. The undercard is supported by local prospects such as welterweight "Nasty" Nick Morganelli (4-0, 3 KOs), cruiserweight Tyrone Smith (3-0-1, 1 KO), a Boston police officer; Guatemalan featherweight Castulo "El Pobeioso" Gonzalez, middleweight John Paul Keane (1-0, 1 KO) and junior welterweight Mike Bernal (2-1).
