Press Release: Featherweight contender Thomas Mashaba’s official record was recently revised – a six-round decision loss in February, 2001, has been removed from his record. Art Peyton of Boxrec.com sent the following email: “Please be advised that South African Thomas Mashaba’s first loss in his ‘Official Record’ is incorrect; Mr. Mashaba never appeared in the Thohoyandou, Limpopo show on 02/24/01. Our South African editor, Andre De Vries, has confirmed this correction with the proper SA Commission and BoxRec has a copy of the report on file. His record stands as 20-1 with 12 KOs.” Official recordkeeper Fight Fax has also received the South African commission report and made the change. Mashaba holds the IBO title and his loss came against Sod Looknongyangtoy via split decision in 2003.
