An entertaining slugfest broke out at the Athletic Center in New Haven, Connecticut between previously undefeated Americo Santos and the well-traveled Marteze Logan. Santos was put down in round five from an overhand right from Logan. Santos had a huge cut over his right eye after round five that got much worse as the fight went on. Neither fighter showed much technique but lots of clean punches landed, making it an exciting fight. The scores were 78-73, 77-74, 79-74 all for the winner by unanimous decision Marteze Logan, a true triple A fighter (he fights anyone, anywhere, any time) who improves to 22-19-2 with 5 KOs while Santos falls to 23-1 with 19 KOs. In fact, Logan won an eight-rounder just last week. Showtime aired this bout when Daniel Jimenez was forced out of his lightweight fight with Benjamin Flores. It was a good decision to do so. source: ShoBox on Showtime
