Marrone in action on Saturday night

Duva Boxing’s 21-year-old undefeated heavyweight Mike Marrone (15-0, 12 KOs) will make his next appearance this Saturday, on Warriors Boxing’s "Night of the Heavyweights" pay-per-view telecast from the Seminole Hard Rock LIVE Arena in Hollywood, Florida.

Marrone’s opponent will be North Carolina’s Ron Bellamy (14-5-4, KOs).

Having been groomed from a very young age by legendary trainer/manager Lou Duva and trainer Gus Curren, the 6’ 2” and 220-lb Marrone is rounding into form as a serious challenge to any heavyweight in the world. “I keep close tabs on him and he’s coming along well,” said Duva. “I can’t say enough about him; this guy really wants to be champion.”

Marrone’s promoter Dino Duva (son of Lou Duva) says the exciting puncher’s next fight will mark a major milestone in his young career. “My father and I definitely believe Mike is ready to step up the opposition. After Saturday, assuming he comes out ok, we’re going to put Mike in with a rated contender next.”

“I’ve got an offer to fight for the WBC Interim Youth Championship, and then after that, we’ll be looking to fight the Youth Champion (Denis Boytsov) in Russia,” reveals the elder Duva.

Team Marrone say their fighter will be looking to make a bold statement in front of the large crowd expected at the “Heavyweights” show this Saturday. “Mike is going to start solidifying his role as one of the most exciting heavyweights in the world and a legitimate contender,” says promoter Dino.
