Markus Beyer W8 Murat Mahmudov... In Munich, Germany, ex-WBC 168-pound titlist Markus Beyer defeated Russia's Murat Mahmudov in a comeback fight that couldlead to something very big. Beyer won the eight-round bout on points. Now 35-3-1, Beyer had not fought since a 2006 loss to Mikkel Kessler. Mahmudov, 16-4, was already coming off a loss in his last fight to Mahir Oral. As Boxingtalkers know that, despite this mediocre win, Beyer is being talked up as a likely Roy Jones opponent. source: associated press
