Only a day after Cuban offered MMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko a major MMA contract, it appears that Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire media mogul Mark Cuban is becoming more serious about his holdings in mixed martial arts.  Cuban has hired MMA veteran and former UFC champion Guy Mezger to run day-to-day operations and talent evaluation.  It is also being reported that former Pride Fighting Championships USA president Ed Fishman has been present for meetings with Cuban and Mezger.  Fishman was the driving force behind Pride FC's pay-per-view events held in Las Vegas in 2006 and early 2007.
