Mares to step up vs. Priolo

Press Release: This Friday, prospects Abner Mares and Jonathan Oquendo return to Cicero Stadium in Illinois in separate bouts. In the main event, the 21 year old Mares, 11-0 (7 KOs), faces Colombian veteran Angel Priolo, 30-5 (20KO’s) in a regional bantamweight title bout. Priolo has faced former champions Jorge Arce, Brian Viloria and Irene Pacheco in his 10-year career. In the co-feature, super bantamweight Jonathan Oquendo, 12-0 (7 KOs) will face Mexican veteran Oscar Andrade, 35-26-1 (18 KOs) in a ten-round bout. In his last bout Oquendo stunned former world title challenger Alejandro Montiel with a first round knockout on December 16, 2006 in Puerto Rico.  In what should be a competitive bout, Chicago favorite Mike Nevitt, 14-0 will face Sacramento, California native, Otis Griffin, 16-1-2 for a light heavyweight regional belt.
