Abner Mares W12 Damian Marchiano... The Abner Mares coming out party was a hit for the Borgata crowd.  The exciting former Mexican Olympian landed sizzling shots at will en route to a 12 round decision over a game but significantly outgunned Damian Marchiano.  A late surge by Marchiano was stifled by the will, skill and grit of the former Olympian Mares.  The official scores were 117-109 and 118-109 (twice). Mares’ professional record improves to 15-0 with 9  KOs while Marchiano falls to 14-3-1 with 5 KOs.  Mares seems ready to step up in class and take on a fighter with a little more power but he proved he is an exciting TV fighter and has the talent to fight at a high level.
