Zolani Marali W12 Jean-Marie Codet... Economic realities make it unusual for a bout between a Frenchman and a South African to take place in South Africa, but that's exactly what happend on Friday when South Africa's Zolani Marali defeated visiting Jean-Marie Codet on points in Durban on Friday night. Marali claimed a minor title at 122 pounds by reported scores of 119-103 (!), 119-107 and 118-109. Switching back and forth between southpaw and righthanded, Marali abused the limited but durable Codet. Marali improves to 17-1 with the lone loss against featherweight contender Thomas Mashaba. The WBU sanctioned Codet, now 14-16-5 in a world title fight, which says a lot about its lack of standards. source: super sportzone
