Moments ago Contender execuitve producer Jeff Wald informed Boxingtalk.com that ESPN will present a special event to boxing fans on Saturday October 14. The Dunkin Donuts center in Providence, Rhode Island will host the action packed card which will be headlined by Peter Manfredo-Joey Spina. The televised co-feature is an intriguing super middleweight match-up between 2000 Olympian Jerson Ravelo and rising prospect Alan Green. According to Wald, boxing fans can expect Contender fixture Alfonso Gomez and New England native, season 2 Contender Gary Balletto. Manfredo's last fight in Providence drew nearly 9,000 fans in the middle of a blizzard, naturally Wald is expecting an even better turnout on October 14.  More to follow, until then remember where you heard it first!
