MANY reliable sources have indicated to Boxingtalk.com that the finalists of NBC's upcoming series "The Contender" are none other than unbeaten up and comers, Sergio Mora and Peter Mandfredo Jr. Unbeaten welterweight contender Ishe "Sugar Shay" Smith was considered a favorite to win the whole thing, but Boxingtalk has been told, again by many sources,  that Mora eliminated him in the early rounds of the competition. "If you love boxing like I do, you want to see the sport return to prominence and not see a bunch of chumps made by Don King and Bob Arum. Everybody is  going to love watching this show  and it will be a great success," said Jeff Wald, co-executive producer of the show. Wald denied Mora and Manfredo were the finalists. It must be noted that Wald shot straight with Boxingtalk.com and acknowledged that he wouldn't confirm our information regardless of its accuracy due to confidentiality and non-disclosure clauses signed by all parties involved with the series.
