Malnik responds to Gato Figueroa

Promoter Yaseen Malnki was recently ripped on this website by Frankie Figueroa. In the interest of fair play, here is Malniak's response: "I have always treated Frankie with the utmost respect and I've worked very hard beyond my contractual obligations to help get Frankie where he is today. When I started promoting Frankie in 2007, he was broke and unranked. At that time he had a reputation of being disloyal and difficult and no promoter wanted to work with him. I take a lot of pride that under my stewardship Frankie climbed hundreds of rankings to go from that unranked fighter to reach the WBC # 4 ranking. I've not only met all of my contractual obligations with Frankie, but I've gone above and beyond my contract with him, financially and in every other way, because I've always cared about him personally and to me it's more about the person than the contract. I'm very sorry to see that Frankie has taken the low road. I choose to take the high road. In the meantime, I will continue to offer Frankie fights as per our contract, which he has been continuously turning down, and I hope to see him back in the ring real soon. I'm just very disappointed that he would go so low, in order to manipulate boxing fans."
