Maccarinelli, Khan triumph in Cardiff

Enzo Maccarinelli TKO1 Bobby Gunn...The handlers of WBO cruiserweight titlist Enzo Maccarinelli scoured the globe for the worst possible fighter that the WBO would stomach in a world title fight, and they did their job well, importing Gunn, a man with zero credible wins on his record. Unsurprisingly, Gunn didnt even make it through the first round, but will go back to America with a payday and a 16-3 record. Maccarinelli, 26-1 with 26 KOs, is one of the world's best in a suddenly rejuvenated cruiserweight division, but fights like this are a waste of time. source: bbc

Amir Khan TKO3 Steffy Bull... Also on the huge Wales card, America got its first glimpse at 2004 Olympian Amir Khan, perhaps the best prospect in the sport. The 20 year old did not disappoint, stopping a credible, expreienced opponent in Steffy Bull in the third round. Khan, now 12-0, was not only quicker but also more powerful than Bull, and he had great success with his left hand. In the third, Khan landed a hard combination that put Bull down and convinced the referee to stop the fight, although Bull did beat the count. Bull drops to 24-5-1. source: hbo
