The preliminary injunction hearing in Souleymane M'baye's lawsuit against the WBA wrapped up in New York City on Thursday.  M'baye's lawyer Judd Burstein made strong accusations concerning the WBA's treatment of Maussa and asked the court to vacate the super championship currently held by Ricky Hatton so that M'baye could have an opportunity to fight for the WBA's only title at 140 pounds. All direct claims against Hatton were withdrawn yesterday, so there seems to be no threat of his career being delayed. The WBA maintains the position that the Court has no jurisdiction. The judge indicated a decision would likely not come until the first week of March.
